EQUALITY & PARTICIPATION

This week we get a peek into the question of equality in the art scene.
Equality plays a vital role in todays everyday discussion about all parts of being a human. It is important wat equality means to each person since it can be seen in many different ways. Gender-equality in art is widely not balanced in the UK. But it is vital to me not just to try fighting the inequalities in numbers of the genders.

So the introduction sentence in this CTS session in equality in arts was

„The creative industries do not offer equal access to all“

I think the question of equality needs to go much further than expected from most people. It just starts with the the question of gender. But human beings are separated in much different and less obvious ways than we think. The history goes back very far where repressed groups of people trying to fight for equality and i think it’s vital to keep that mindset alive with all kinds of topics.

But maybe sometimes it’s more effective to just try to do it different rather than trying to change other peoples mind.
